THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGING

It's really weird out here in Los Angeles these days, what with the fires happening in the surrounding areas. There were no signs of it until a few days later when the haze from the smoke finally started drifting over the skies of our neighborhood. And that's to say nothing of the feeling of uncertainty gripping the area due to impending writers' strike.

To those that e-mailed, yes, my family and I are okay, and the reason I haven't been surfacing much anywhere is that I've been too busy buckling down on all the projects I've been meaning to get done. That includes the redesign of this webpage. It's been a time of great experimentation, figuring out what worked and more importantly what didn't, whether it was a story point, a character design or a page layout.

While I've been encouraged to tryout for a number of projects on series I've been involved with in the past, I've decided it's time to concentrate on my own material and hope for the best. I've slowly been upgrading my equipment and software, getting comfortable with the idea that sometimes the old ways aren't necessarily the best while still being selective in using new methods when deciding on the best means to present my work.

Look for video and audio additions to this site very soon, as I work to make this site a portfolio piece that's more interactive. And I'm going to present a much broader range of my work as opposed to being as Sonic-centric as it was in the past. (Although, let's face it, the little blue blur is ALWAYS going to maintain some presence on this site. I'll always be associated with the character, especially now that Archie is just beginning to reprint my earliest work and have years to go before they run of material.)
