While I was working on the "The Chaotix Caper", I received a phone call from my editor, Justin Gabrie. Justin, it turned out, was looking to break the pattern of 3-issue story arcs in KNUCKLES sooner than I was ready for. Since I wasn't about to tell him that, I simply agreed to his suggestion and began figuring out what I was going to do.

I've always had a rough idea where I was going with my stories in regards to my work on KNUCKLES, but I hadn't worked out all the details, preferring to leave myself openings in case I came up with something better along the way. Now I was being forced to work out the continuity several issues in advance for the series, and as I began to figure out all the hows and whys, it occured to me a change-of-pace one issue character piece would be just the ticket to lay down the ground work for all the action yet to come.

With "Reunions", I establish the principal players that will impact upon KNUCKLES in very significant ways as the series progresses. There's the immediate family (Locke, Lara-Le and her consort Wynmacher), extended family (Sabre and the rest of the Brotherhood), close friends (the Chaotix) and the significant girl friend (Julie-Su). More than that, we begin to unfold the mysteries of Knuckles' origins and his proper place in the whole scheme of things.

Manny Galan and Andrew Pepoy deliver the usual high-quality art you've come to expect, with yet another script by yours truly.
