Ken Penders significantly expanded the Sonic the mythos in the Archie Comics, where he served as the main writer for years. His run produced the most memorable and unexpected stories Sonic, and Knuckles for that matter, ever participated in. However, he is perhaps more famous for his part in a lawsuit with Archie comics, which would see him come out on top, and Archie comics losing the rights to more than 200 characters Penders created.
