As my New Year’s gift to everyone, I thought I’d display a bit of the flashback sequence from THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: SHATTERED TOMORROWS. This is from page 8, depicting a moment of great joy between Lara-Su and her father K’Nox. The sequence will include moments that were never shown, then it begins to tie everything together. It’s my reassurance to readers who’ve waited a long time to see what happens next and how it all fits with what came before.
In the meantime, I’d like to thank everyone who pre-ordered THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS so far. I’m about to cross the 100 supporters mark, so there’s still time – 14 days plus the remainder of today – to order so you can get your name included on the SPECIAL THANKS page featured in the book as well as receive a Limited Edition signed Lara-Su print. The print will only go to those who pre-ordered and will not be made available via any other means. It’s another way of my saying thanks to those who kept the faith.
Also, I still have a number of Lara-Su SURVIVE! T-shirts available for order as well as the Lara-Su Limited Edition Prints. I was surprised when I received orders for both as my focus as been solely on launching the book.
For the record, the show of support for these items as well as the Unit Patches goes a long way towards enabling me to move forward with THE KNUCKLES OMNIBUS Vol. 1 as well the complete LARA-SU CHRONICLES: SHATTERED TOMORROWS graphic novel.
Once THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS is completed and sent off to the printers, one of my first orders of business after the Lara-Su app is completed will be to hire a colorist so I can focus solely on the art and illustration, enabling me to get that volume out sooner rather than later. By that point, there should be more than enough samples for people to get an idea of what I’m looking for.
I just received some sound and music digital files to review for inclusion into the app, but I’ve set that aside for the moment to get the book out.
While I hope to be more engaging on a regular level with this blog, until the book is completed, it’ll be whenever I have time during the next two weeks or so to squeeze it in. I apologize in advance and ask for your patience. I’m hoping 2024 allows me to move forward on a number of front with both this website and other endeavors.
In the meantime, people can always email me. I always do my best to respond. In the meantime, thanks and take care.
Happy New Year, Ken!!! I absolutely love the scene we’re flashing back to, in the image you shared here, and I’m very excited to see what new insights we get into that past. Still, the main event for me is what comes after The Storm!
I eagerly await what comes next for all my favorite characters in The Lara-Su Chronicles, with the excellent designs you’ve made for them to exist in independent from the fickle world of licensed video game comics. 🙂
Wishing you all the best in getting TL-SC: Beginnings completed and sent off to the printers!!! I’ll continue supporting you and your projects (Lara-Su and beyond!) in any way I can.
People can expect bits and pieces they’ve never seen before the main event. Neither Archie or SEGA would ever allow or depict the crucial story moments that I’m working on.
Will THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS be released in digital format someday? Or will it permanently only be in physical format?
While elements of THE LARA-SU CHRONICLES: BEGINNINGS will see a digital release, not all of it will be. The majority of the M25YL section won’t see a digital release until later. How much later is very much up in the air for the time being. As for the digital release, it will initially be available through Apple’s app store. Any other format is another matter still up in the air and will be for awhile. That’s why the success of the print edition is a big deal to me as I’m doing just about everything myself. I’d like to be able to hire a colorist as well as a programmer for the Google app store format, but that’s not possible at this time. It’s a process, but I’m getting there.
For curiosity: Steven Butler re-draw to you the last page of M25YL or you did it ?
I illustrated all the changes made to the last page. I also had to illustrate parts that were hidden by word balloons. So far, everyone who’s seen them has been impressed by the results.
