Description
his was the second part of an homage to Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY series which both Sonic creators Mike Gallagher and Jim Valentino got the ball rolling in Part One, as both were the primary driving creative forces of the Marvel series back in the 90’s. In this issue, writer Mike Gallagher concludes the story he began while Dawn Best takes over as penciler from Jim Valentino with Ken Penders handling the inking responsibilities. Here’s a nice page showing the Guardian Sonic taking down Snively who’s depicted as the equivalent of the Silver Surfer.
Original art to early issues of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA and their various SPECIALS and MINI-SERIES are extremely hard to come by, especially given their one-of-a-kind nature.
